Iron Man 3 Screening
We are pleased to announce that we will have an advanced screening of Iron Man 3 on the 25th of April. Similar to the Avengers last year, Marvel March will once again be a massive build-up to a cinema trip courtesy of the Gate Cinema. Hopefully, this trip will meet the high standard we have set in the past for this type of excursion (especially The Hobbit) and that everyone involved will enjoy it.

Marvel March Preview
February's almost finished which means we at the Sci-fi Society are gearing up for our annual Marvel March - a month dedicated to the prestigious comic book publishers and their best franchises. Last year, the screenings revolved around The Avengers with each hero's movie being screened and culminated in a trip to the Irish premiere of Avengers: Assemble. Though the Avengers soaked up much of the limelight, other Marvel franchises were honoured in the Marvel quiz, the X-Men quiz and the competitions we ran throughout the month.
This year, we'll be paying a similar homage (albeit with less of the Avengers this time) with a Marvel screening each week so brace yourselves for some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

We Can Rebuild It
Hey all. We're in the process of rebuilding the Sci-fi website due to technical issues that rendered us unable to use the old site.
Fixing the website will take some time but until then, we can use this Blogspot page to gauge your general interests. We want to know what you all want from the website so that we know what parts to keep and which to remove from the final site. Our aim is to use the site to host articles and features about all aspects of our society including all forms of media relating to science fiction and anime. Examples of such articles would be previews of our screenings and possibly even reviews of them from regular members of the society. We have a lot of ideas on the table that we want to experiment with and use what we've learned on the main site when it's ready.
We'll still be using the other pages (FaceBook, Twitter) and running this blog concurrently. Hopefully, we can use this to offer content beyond the screenings. We're also considering getting a new message board, once again as a test for the main site.
Any suggestions/criticisms are quite welcome.
Anyway, we'll be screening 2001: A Space Odyssey in a joint-event with the Atheists, Agnostics, Secularists & Humanitarian Society tomorrow night at 7pm in Boole 3. As always, there'll be banter abound!
